About Board & Body

Elevating Your Lake Life

Board & Body exists because of a desire to bring an inviting and premium fitness experience to the Highland Lakes community. Our love for lake life is blended with a one-of-a-kind fitness concept to create what has become The Floating Fitness Experience, exclusive to Lake LBJ. Whether you’re enjoying your lake house, a summer vacationer, or a full time resident looking to break out of routine, Board & Body is ready to elevate your Lake Life.

The Board & Body Method™

The Floating Fitness Experience

The Board & Body Method™ is the one-of-a-kind core strengthening, 45 minute experience that utilizes the dynamic balance challenge from the paddleboard to maximize each minute of class. The format includes a gentle warm up, full body exercises, movements targeting core strengthening and stabilizing muscles, and stretches throughout. Each class is set to upbeat music and moves at a moderate pace. Modifications and alternatives are provided to meet the needs of each participant.

About Our Founder

Establishing and Sharing The Floating Fitness Experience

Jes Butler is a wife, mom of two, fitness enthusiast, and full time resident of the Highland Lakes area. As an AFAA Certified Group Fitness Instructor, she recognized the maximizing benefits of combining the core engagement from paddleboarding with advanced core strengthening techniques. Over time, she developed the Board & Body Method™ and established the effective, enjoyable and one-of-a-kind fitness experience that we now offer in every Board & Body class.

The Board & Body Philanthropy Initiative is an expression of our Founder’s passions. After navigating two challenging postpartum recoveries of her own, Jes tailored the Board & Body Method™ into a second format that specifically addresses the needs of women engaging in their own postpartum recoveries. The result is our Board & Body Method™ for Moms, our no-cost class for under-resourced postpartum women in the Highland Lakes area. We equip recipients with fitness and recovery knowledge they can carry off the board, and continue to practice throughout their journey into motherhood. The Board & Body Philanthropy Initiative is funded through a 10:1 revenue sponsored strategy, and expedited by direct giving via our “Buy One, Gift One” purchase, available at checkout. Please see our Philanthropy page for more details.
